Britain's Oldest Art

In 2003, research at Creswell Crags re-wrote a piece of prehistory and marked a turning point in prehistoric investigations in Britain.

A European team of specialists discovered art from the Ice Age engraved into the walls of Church Hole. This was the first ever discovery of parietal (wall) Ice Age art in Britain.

Creswell Crags was now the home of Britain's oldest art gallery.
